The Taiwan-based APLUS company, which Ozdisan Elektronik is a distributor of, offers audio integrations for different areas of use. These integrations can be classified according to their audio duration, dip or SMD cases, pin numbers, or types of memory. In this article, we will discuss the use of the demoboard, which was developed to cover all APLUS integrations designed by Ozdisan Elektronik R&D department.

The APLUS demoboard was designed so that the AP89K, AIVR3K and AP23 models that the company has manufactured until today can easily be used by the users. For the SMD and dip versions of these three models, the DAC and PWM functions can be operated separately. For the AP89K, AIVR3K and AP23 models, these integrations, each of which has audio files loaded via their programmers, can easily be tested via the “zif socket” allocated to the integration on the demoboard. There are 1 8-way dip switch, 1 potentiometer, 9 buttons, 1 AP4890B amplifier, 2 power inputs and 1 speaker output on the product PCB.

For the AP89K series products, which are the last generation of the 3rd generation product family launched by APLUS, the dip models should be connected to the U2 coded zif socket, and the SMD models should be connected to the U3 coded smd-dip converter adapter. Also, in order to facilitate the use by our customers, the reference points on the product will help to make the connection.

The AIVR3K series integrations, which are part of APLUS’s 2nd generation product family, are plugged into the U4 coded zif socket in both dip and SMD models. A 16-pin smd-dip converter must be used to connect smd models to the zif socket. This converter can be supplied from Ozdisan Elektronik stocks.

Both dip and smd models of AP23 series products produced in the same generation with AP89K series are plugged into the U5 coded zif socket. A 16-pin smd-dip converter must be used to connect smd models to the zif socket. The AP23-coded integration has 8-pin and 16-pin models. Products with both pin versions can be plugged into the U5-coded socket. In order for the connections to be made correctly, the points on the demoboard should be referenced.

According to the audio integration to be used and the mode in which the audio is requested to play, the positions of the switches should be adjusted according to the table below. Since SW7 and SW8 are not used, their location is insignificant. The connections of the audio playback pins on the AP89 coded integrations, as well as the buttons, are as shown in the table below.

The connections of the audio playback pins on the AIVR3K coded integrations, as well as the buttons, are as shown in the table below. The 8-pin models are equipped with PC pins.

The connections of the audio playback pins on the AP23 coded integrations, as well as the buttons, are as shown in the table below. The 8-pin models are equipped with S1 and S4 pins.

APLUS supports audio playback in two different modes in its products, as PWM and DAC. For the AP89K, AIVR3K and AP23 series integrations, which will be operated in DAC mode, volume adjustment can be made via the potentiometer. In PWM mode, on the other hand, the volume level cannot be controlled. In order for the programmed sound integration to play, a 0.5W, 8 Ohm speaker can be connected to the H-coded speaker output on the demoboard and the desired sound can be played by adjusting the switch setting. Again, the speaker to be used on the demoboard can easily be supplied from Ozdisan Elektronik stocks.
