Artificial intelligence, which is considered as a futurist life, has become one of the most important issues in today’s scientific world. When we talk about artificial intelligence, we first think of unusual robots and machines we saw in the movies, right? Artificial intelligence is a technology that can imitate a real person as a result of analyzing human thinking methods, giving reactions that a real person can give, and allowing them to be integrated into artificial tools. It can also be described as a machine’s attempt to think through software programmed for the said job.
These machines are used in many fields today, from automotive to aviation, and from medicine to defense sector. The world has seen great developments in the field of artificial intelligence in the last 20 years. The importance of artificial intelligence in military, civic and commercial applications is increasing daily. In other words, we can say that the artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an “industry”. It is estimated that the turnover of artificial intelligence applications, which we are starting to see especially in the military field, was around $2 billion last year.
Investments are increasing
There is a very important report prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on this issue. According to the report, the development of artificial intelligence technologies is expected to contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy in 2030. Again, according to the research, the global gross national product will increase by 14 percent in 2030 thanks to artificial intelligence-based technologies. Artificial intelligence technologies will contribute more to the global economy than the current total economic size of China and India (about $13.3 trillion). The research suggests that the artificial intelligence offers one of the biggest commercial opportunities for economies. More than half of the total revenues to be obtained from artificial intelligence by 2030 will come from productivity growth, while the rest will come from an increase in consumer demand for products based on artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere
The fact that the technological products that have taken their place in many areas of our lives today have become interconnected and even interact with each other, is a sign that smarter machines and systems are also on the way. The smart devices we use in our daily lives even started talking to us. Technology companies, inspired by this fact, continue to design products that will influence the sector and make huge investments in this area. In a near future, we will be able to see robots helping us in our homes and workplaces.

Facebook has pulled the plug of artificial intelligence
Different news about artificial intelligence continues to fall on the agenda. The plug of the chatbots, which were working within a program launched by Facebook as part of artificial intelligence studies, was pulled off when they stopped speaking English and started to deal with a strange language, they created by themselves. This was a huge news on social media. A similar chatbot was stopped in China due to its racist rhetorics.

Will robots replace humans?
In the automation sector, the expectations are quite high. It is expected that the production will be revised in a near future. There is another concern caused by the rapid spreading robotic systems. Will robots replace humans? The increase in developments in this area has also led to concerns about unemployment. Many experts argue that unemployment will increase. Because, it is expected that robots will take over the jobs in many sectors where human labor is heavily used. Robotic technologies will come across as one of the most important elements that increase efficiency and competitiveness in the automation sector. Because physically less energy will be spent, but the efficiency will increase even more. But there is no need to worry about it. Although artificial intelligence applications continue to develop at a dizzying pace in many industries, it will not replace human labor in many strategic business lines.
