With the digitalization of our daily life, we started to see the TFT screens more and more. Consumers now want to see the features that they are used to from mobile phones and tablet PCs in industrial designs as well. An TFT display in an industrial design provides the user with more detailed access to the device, offers more flexibility of use, and the user can see many notifications and features on the screen. Also, the device gains a more stylish and technological appearance from an aesthetic point of view.
Linux-based operating systems have become quite common recently, the most common of which is the Android operating system. Now it is expected that many devices will be able to connect to internet and play videos. Linux-based systems are quite suitable for these devices where it is also required to install applications. There are also ready-made Linux boards such as Raspberry, Banana pi, Orange pi. For such devices, a TFT display is one of the must-have features.
As with any new technology, TFT technology was costly and difficult to design in the years when it was first launched. However, with the investments made, development of technology and improvement of production processes, the TFT display prices have fallen to very reasonable levels. The cost of the designs made using a TFT display and that of made with an conventional technology graphic LCD have come close to each other, in fact to a level that TFT display prices are almost lower than conventional graphic LCD prices.

As a result of the partnership that Ozdisan Elektronik made with the Chinese TFT manufacturer SAT Group in 2014, the company name was changed to SATOZ. Ozdisan Elektronik has made a significant investment to meet Türkiye’s TFT display demand. SATOZ is one of the important manufacturers in China engaged in the production of small and medium-sized TFT displays. Ozdisan aims to provide affordable and high-quality products for local manufacturers with the power of this partnership. Recently, SATOZ branded capacitive touch screens have also taken their place in our inventory.
Ozdisan Elektronik is the distributor of Winstar brand in addition to SATOZ. Thus, the product variety increases and different solutions are provided for different applications. Ozdisan provides driver board solutions for different applications in addition to TFT products. The company also designs and manufactures some of these driver boards in-house.
● Do I need a touch screen?
Both the Resistive (RTP) and Capacitive (CTP) options are widely used as required, while they both have different areas of use.
● Will the device work outdoor or indoor?
In case of working indoor, a product with high brightness should be selected.
● What should be the connection interface of the TFT with the processor?
There are MCU, RGB, LVDS and MIPI interfaces available for different applications.
● What should be the viewing angle?
If the user needs to see the device not only from the opposite direction, but also from side angles, a wide-angle product should be preferred.
● What should be the operating temperature range of the device?
The product is preferred to operate at the appropriate operating temperature.
Ozdisan’s R&D and technical support department carries out various demo board, software and documentation studies to accelerate the transition of customers to TFT products.
Ozdisan shares the diagrams and software of these studies. In addition to the main TFT products, the company also imports the materials that are required to be used with these TFT products.
