Istanbul Invention Fest 2024
Organized annually by Ozdisan Elektronik to support the inventors of the future, the Invention Fest hosted a scene of great excitement this year too. The 20th Istanbul Invention Fest, was held on December 7, 2024 at Dogus University Dudullu Campus. The concept of this year’s competition, where the young engineering candidates and technology enthusiasts demonstrate their creativity was “Peanut Candy Throwing Contest”. The contestants have tried to hit the target at 5 meters by throwing 50 peanut candies within 1 minute to get the highest point. To achieve this goal, they have designed mechanical devices that can throw peanut candies.
This year’s event hosted 40 teams as 5 hobbyists and 35 school teams. Students and hobbyists competed with the devices that they developed entirely with their own ideas. Throughout the competition, participants’ creativity and engineering skills drew a huge attention. Specifically, some devices showed innovative solutions in terms of their designs and launch mechanisms. The competition day started with great enthusiasm at Dogus University Dudullu Campus. The excitement of the teams, as well as the cheer of the spectators created a magical atmosphere. Participants used their devices skillfully to get the highest points in 60-second. The referees, when assessing the performance of the devices, reviewed whether the candies hit the targets, while protecting their integrity.
Ozdisan Elektronik aims to prepare the young people for the future world of engineering and technology, by triggering their imagination with this Invention Fest. Such activities encourage students’ teamwork and creative thinking, while also developing their problem solving abilities.
