Özdisan Elektronik: Our Steps Towards A Sustainable Future
With increasing global environmental awareness and policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions under the European Green Deal, businesses’ responsibilities in the field of sustainability are becoming more prominent. At Özdisan Elektronik, we are conscious of this responsibility and aim to be a company that shapes the future through environmentally friendly practices. While we shared information about carbon emissions and the European Green Deal in our previous magazine, this time we would like to share the decisions we’ve made as a company, our goals in this field, and the concrete steps we are taking for a sustainable world.
Our Goals and Commitments
2030 Goal: Become a 100% Carbon Neutral Company
We are restructuring all our operations, from energy management to logistics processes, within the framework of environmental sustainability to eliminate our carbon footprint.
Achieve 50% Energy Savings
We aim to reduce our energy consumption through efficiency enhancing projects and strive to produce more with fewer resources.
Renewable Energy Production
With our 30 MW capacity solar power plant, we generate our own renewable energy, covering a significant portion of our energy needs through eco-friendly methods.
Transparent Reporting
In accordance with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 standards, we regularly measure and report our carbon emissions. In line with our commitment to transparency, we share this data with the public to demonstrate our responsibility in reducing our environmental impact.
Collaborations and Process Management
To achieve our sustainability goals, we place great importance on teamwork and strategic partnerships. In this regard, we have established a Sustainability Team within the company. Our team proactively develops and implements approaches to minimize our environmental impacts. Additionally, we are collaborating with Doğuş University to assess our carbon emissions and analyze our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks. These processes are designed to align with the European Green Deal and Turkey’s Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS).
To achieve our sustainability goals, we place great importance on teamwork and strategic partnerships.
In this regard, we have established a Sustainability Team within the company.
These efforts, reported quarterly, form a solid foundation for us to reach our future objectives.
Training and Awareness Programs
To increase environmental sustainability awareness and encourage our employees to take a more active role in these processes, we will organize in-house sustainability training sessions. Through these training programs, we aim to enhance our employees’ knowledge about the European Green Deal and the steps needed on the path to carbon neutrality.
