Excelitas PYD169T8 Low Power Motion Sensor

Excelitas PYD169T8 Low Power Motion Sensor (PIR)

Excelitas PYD169T8 Low Power Motion Sensor (PYD1698 Low Power PIR sensor):

It is a smart sensor designed for low power consumption. The most important feature of PYD1698 sensor is that it can work in wakeup interrupt mode.

Thus;

Unlike the traditional methods and instead of having to check the sensor regularly, the product outputs only when it sees a movement. Thanks to the setup register inside, the parameters determined are written into the sensor. Many features can be set using the same register again. One of these features is the distance feature.

The visual distance of the sensor can be set with the threshold value in the internal register. The ambient temperature can be detected with the built-in temperature sensor. The sensor’s operating voltage is in the range of 2.5V – 3.6V, and the operating current is 3uA (at 3V supply voltage).
Ozdisan Elektronik R&D support team has designed a useful development kit. This aims to enable the users of the sensor to recognize the technical characteristics in a short time, as well as test and adapt them according to their own systems.

This board, that can be purchased with the PYD1698 DEMOBOARD code, has been equipped with an Excelitas PYD1698 sensor,

The current consumed by the circuit when there is no movement is 4.8 UA. This also offers a theoretical battery life of 5 years on standby with a 220 mAh Cr2032 battery.

In addition to the working principle of the demo kit:

It detects a movement in line with the values set within, and lights the LEDs located on it for a certain period of time.

Ozdisan R&D support team shares the necessary C codes, schematics and technical information, with the R&D personnel of the manufacturers in real world applications.
