We offer integrated IoT solutions that can address the widest range of applications and areas of use. For instance, we produce sector-specific solutions such as energy services, meter applications, tracking, logistics, Industry 4.0, agriculture, animal husbandry and health.
Could you tell us about your recent R&D efforts? Do you have any new product plans for 2021?

Cavli’s R&D team aims to innovate at a scale that will contribute to the entire IoT ecosystem, not only on the hardware side of IoT. Therefore, we are challenging traditions and comprehensively rethinking, designing and developing the IoT from hardware and connectivity to the platform. We have an R&D facility in India that develops advanced and innovative technologies, and we also have in-house engineers in the United States, Russia and Türkiye. Our innovations are based around the idea of simplifying the IoT. We are constantly researching the aspects of IoT that are really important. Some of these research areas include sustainable digital transformation through the latest connectivity technologies, security, 5G and IoT. We have ambitious plans for 2021, such as launching our 5G and CAT6 module portfolio, securing new connectivity partnerships and introducing our highly innovative solutions for the automotive industry.
“In Türkiye, eSiM integrated Cavli modules can also easily connect to Vodafone Türkiye’s local IoT and IPWaN networks via the Cavli Hubble platform.”
Can you tell us about Cavli’s global organization?
The headquarters of our company is in the United States. We have an R&D Innovation Center in India, and sales offices in Spain, Türkiye and Oman. We are successfully maintaining our commercial operations on four continents, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Cavli’s manufacturing facilities are spread over India, Taiwan and China. We are also making technology partnerships with many global companies that develop innovative and niche technologies, mainly operating in the fields of semiconductors, telecom, and cloud software.
What differentiates you from your competitors?
Cavli solves various critical challenges faced by manufacturers in the development, field deployment and management of IoT solutions. Our comprehensive solution is a hardware, connectivity and platform integration that includes not only the hardware part of the IoT product development process, but also the native IoT connectivity and device management functions. Cavli helps IoT product manufacturers to develop an IoT product and solution more easily, securely, scalably, cost-effectively and launch it to the market in a much shorter time. So, it is actually an integrated and extremely cost-effective solution that helps companies build solutions across geographies, deploy them, connect to the local IoT cellular network and remotely manage device operation.

How was the year 2020 for your company?
2020 was an important year for our company. We have signed some important partnerships with the leading telecom operators, semiconductor manufacturers and distributors in the EU, the Middle East and Africa. We also launched our company’s flagship Hubble99 plan, the world’s first subscription-based IoT connectivity model that also includes connectivity hardware. In 2020, when we were struggling with the global pandemic, Cavli continued to conduct all its business 100% remotely with zero downtime and zero layoffs. In fact, we have continued to grow in order to meet the increasing demand by adding valuable new colleagues to our team in critical positions. In 2020, we have also seen the emergence of some new use cases in the IoT, including remote patient monitoring in healthcare. In many IoT monitoring and tracking application areas, we experienced an increase in demand, especially in the Latin American and European markets, due to the pandemic. As we move from the pandemic period to the “new normal”, Cavli continues its transformation journey to be a highly innovative, effective and rapidly growing company.

cost-effectively and launch it to the market in a much shorter time.”
What are the advantages of eSIM technology?
eSIM is the abbreviation of embedded SIM. It is a small embedded chip, unlike the traditional removable plastic SIM cards. eSIMs are finding quite wide areas of application in IoT due to their advantages such as remote SIM card profile definition and installation, higher SIM capacity, ability to upload multiple Telecom operator profiles and ability to switch between operators without manual intervention. Recently, we have seen the use of eSIM technology in consumer electronic devices such as Apple iPhone and Apple watches.
Can you tell us about your cooperation with Vodafone Türkiye?
Cavli eSIM integrated modules can now connect to networks in more than 180 countries around the world, where there are more than 60 Telecom operators. In Türkiye, eSiM integrated Cavli modules can also easily connect to Vodafone Türkiye’s local IoT and IPWaN networks via the Cavli Hubble platform. Cavli Wireless, Vodafone Türkiye and Ozdisan Elektronik business partnership have assumed a leading role by realizing a first in Türkiye in this sense and made very important contributions to the IoT ecosystem of our country.

With the recent decrease in prices of IoT modules, a wider usage volume has been achieved, right?
Yes, cellular IoT is finding a wider range of uses. Many major operators around the world have already deployed dedicated IoT networks, and connectivity hardware are becoming an “asset”. However, what we offer to the market as Cavli is not just “hardware”. Cavli Modules are “intelligent modules”. Cavli Wireless has managed to launch a product bundle that exceeds the capabilities of existing solutions in the IoT ecosystem. Hubble99, the world’s first truly subscription-based IoT offering with zero hardware cost, brings hardware, connectivity and platform together in a single package. The Hubble99 plan brings together hardware, connectivity and platform in a single package. In 2016, the industry leader Ericsson predicted a near future where the LPWAN module would be priced below $5 in the market. With Hubble99, Cavli has reduced it to $0, and this is actually a first in the industry. Cavli has been a pioneer in the IoT ecosystem by offering a full end-to-end IoT connectivity as a Service (IoT CaaS) for the first time.
