Artificial Intelligence Detects Human Emotions

Artificial Intelligence

Scientists from Queen Mary University of London have found a new way of detecting how people feel, with a new artificial intelligence based on wireless signals. The scientists who conducted the study showed the participants four different videos that evoked feelings of anger, sadness, joy and pleasure, and then emitted harmless radio waves while the participants watched the videos. With these signals, they also obtained data such as heart rate and breathing by measuring the changes experienced after contact with the individual. Applying the deep learning algorithm they developed to process these data obtained later, the researchers found that the emotions were detected much more accurately than the results measured by classical machine learning methods.
