Today, with the development of smartphone technology, taking photos has become an important part of our lives. It is possible to capture every moment without carrying a separate machine. Some people eternize the purest modes of natural life, while others share the most unforgettable moments of their loved ones. The history of photography goes back to old years. The first “frame with a person” in history is a photo of Paris taken in 1838.
We, as the regular users on the other hand, used analog cameras. Analog cameras, which many people today cannot remember, are actually the main heroes of our childhood photos. Analog cameras, one of the most important technological developments in the 70s and 80s, are the machines in which the image is captured by light reflected on a chemical surface called film. In analog machines, there were almost no modes such as auto-focus feature or auto shooting. There were also no digital screens except for limited special models. These machines, which worked with a mechanical system, also did not need a power source such as a battery. These machines with angular lines were also quite robust, as they were made of materials such as stainless steel and cast iron. One of the most important features of analog cameras was that there was no megapixel limit, since they were shooting on a film.
Leica has left its mark on the history of photography

The German camera manufacturer Leica, which has made its mark on the last century in the field of photography, is a legend if you will. Its place in the history of world photography is unquestionably the first. It was one of the biggest dreams of any photographer at that time. During the years when the brand was popular, it also witnessed important events in world history. In the era of communication, it has taken on critical roles in the dissemination of information on societies with visual materials.

The biggest step was taken by Leica in the 1900s. They were the first company to produce a portable camera without the need for a tripod. ”Although not all the photos engraved in history were taken with a Leica, they were all taken thanks to Leica” said the company, which managed to make its name mentioned again in recent years with the commercial film in which it brought 35 photos engraved in history to life again. It also came up again when one of its first cameras was sold for a record price at an auction house. The Leica brand camera, produced in 1923 and found a buyer for 2.4 million euros, received the title of “the most expensive camera in the world”. Over the years, the transformation of analog information into digital has become a milestone in the field of electronics. Thus, radical changes have also occurred in the management of image and audio information. One of the most remarkable developments of the technological revolution is digital cameras. In recent years, mobile phones have started to replace digital cameras. More than 70 million photos are uploaded daily to Instagram, one of the most popular applications today. Because, visual content is now the king of the digital world.
Artificial intelligence based camera: Clips

The engineers who developed Google’s artificial intelligence based camera Clips, collaborated with a documentary director, a photojournalist and a fine art photographer to develop the camera’s artificial intelligence. Thus, the visual data needed to train the neural network of the camera was obtained. Clips’s artificial intelligence was designed with the concept of “Go beyond taking only a frame.”
Features to be Considered in Cameras
Megapixels
Megapixel, representing the size of a photo, does not necessarily mean that the photo quality of that camera will be good even if its value on the camera is high.
Digital Zoom and Optical Zoom
Optical zoom should be taken into account instead of digital zoom when buying a camera. Thanks to the digital zoom feature on the LCD screen located on the back of the machine, you can zoom in on the image.
Flash Function
The flash function gives the photographer a great flexibility, as it allows us to capture light for the image as they desire. When taking photos, machines with Red Eye Reduction feature should be preferred to prevent the eyes from appearing red in photos.
Sensor
Two sensors, namely “CMOS” and “CCD” are used in today’s cameras. The CCD sensor is used on older types of machines and some high-end machines. The CCD sensor, which is better in terms of quality than the CMOS sensor, is also a little bit more expensive. The reason why the CMOS sensor, which we often see in new generation machines, is widely used is that its production costs are low.
Shutter Delay
The shutter delay is the time elapsed after the shutter button is pressed while taking a photo until the photo is actually captured. Too much delay leads to a long duration of exposure.
Battery and Memory
One of the features that should be considered when buying a machine is that its battery life is long. Cameras with rechargeable alkaline batteries are more preferred. Memory is also an important feature for the camera. Because, you can store more photos with high-memory machines.
