The sensor utilizes a SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diodes) array, diffractive optical elements (DOE), and a 940 nm invisible VCSEL laser (EYE-SAFE) integrated system to divide the scene into multiple zones within a square field of view (FoV) and take measurements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Boardoza VL53L5CX module offers up to 64 independent measurement zones, with configurations of 4\u00d74 or 8\u00d78 zones. This enables it to go beyond single-point distance information, enabling advanced functions such as near-field depth mapping, motion detection, and multi-target detection. The histogram-based algorithms running on the sensor effectively suppress cover glass crosstalk issues commonly encountered in applications involving glass surfaces.
