2020 was a year that has been far away from the expectations. We are going through a process where targets are being reduced and strategies are being redefined globally. We are starting a new era in which the digital revolution will gain momentum. The coronavirus pandemic has caused a pause in the electronics sector, as in all sectors. We talked about this process we have been going through, as well as the future of the sector, with Ozdisan Elektronik General Manager Mustafa Yurttas.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What would you like to say about your leading position in electronic components distributorship? What criteria do you pay attention to when choosing the brands you will represent?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there are some tricks to maintain this position for more than 15-20 years. First of all, it should be noted that our customers trust \u201cOzdisan\u201d rather than the \u201cproduct\u201d they buy. We are receiving a lot of feedback in this direction. We care about the product type, brand awareness or suitability of the production range of the companies we are a representative or distributor of for the market. We also do a price\/performance comparison. It is also an important criterion for us that the company in question adopts an innovative approach. To give an example, last year we signed a distributorship agreement with Recom Power, which manufactures converters, various current regulators and LED operators in all power classes. We did not have a product group similar to that of Recom Power. Isabellenh\u00fctte is also one of the world\u2019s leading shunt resistor manufacturers we signed a distributorship agreement with. Isabellenh\u00fctte is one of the most important suppliers of the technology giant Tesla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You \u201cfeed\u201d strategically important sectors with your products and services. What would you like to say about this? Do you think there will be new sectors that the market will address to?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

As the electronics industry develops, smart technologies have started to make our lives easier in every area. You can see that we are adapting to this speed even more every day. We can say that technology has settled into the center of our life. Every digitalized product has already started to create its own sector. We can say that all kinds of sub-products that feed these sectors will be even more valuable in the future. As Ozdisan, we usually launch and bring new technologies to the companies in the market. We also provide technical training and support in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n

Could you tell us about Ozdisan Elektronik\u2019s short and long term plans?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Our priority is to become a global player. Despite the effects of the current crisis affecting all sectors, especially electronics and automation, we insist on this goal in 2018. We have launched our own offices in 2 different locations in the Far East and 3 in Europe. We have plans to open new offices in 20 more countries in the long term. We have been attending international fairs for years. Some of these are boutique content, while others embrace their own sectors. I hope that 50% of our sales will be based on export in 2025. We have achieved a lot in 40 years. I believe that these achievements will grow exponentially in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n

What will be the trends and developments in the electronics sector in the coming years? Which sectors will be directly affected by these developments?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Trending technologies will further consolidate in our lives in the near future. I believe that new technologies will revolutionize our lives in the next 5 years. I can say that especially the young population adapts to these technologies faster. For instance, electric vehicles will appear as a requirement in the automotive field. We will even witness that countries will renew their legal regulations in this direction. Medical Electronics will also be one of the rising trends again. Developing technology will also increase the capability of medical devices. IoT will become even more popular with new applications in different fields. We should also talk about the new generation of mobile phones. We will see that our phones are almost turning into our personal assistants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you assess the situation of both the Turkish and European markets in the field of electronic components?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

As you know, there is no PCB manufacturing that requires advanced technology in T\u00fcrkiye. In Europe, on the other hand, very successful brands stand out in this field. As Ozdisan, offer stock advantage to our customers by making important distributorship agreements with such brands. As the trending technology develops, the demand for these products will also increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What exactly do you think 5G will change in our lives? What kind of advice would you have for companies in this regard?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The field of the 4.0 digital age is expanding daily. Today, we see that both individuals and businesses are accelerating even faster in the fluidity of information. We are living in a period where nothing can remain secret anymore and information on almost every subject is easily accessible. On the other hand, it is clear that the hegemony of countries with technology will continue in the coming years. I believe that 5G performs a very important task in the transportation of this data to us and businesses. It is great to imagine beyond 5G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How has Ozdisan.com improved since the day it was established? What kind of innovations will your customers expect on ozdisan.com as of 2020?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

With the transformation of our website into an E-commerce platform in 2016, the number of people it reaches is increasing every day. We care about adapting to innovations. We also adapt to the trends in this field and further support our platform with new investments. Our infrastructure continues to strengthen.\u00a0We anticipate that Ozdisan.com<\/a> will also meet a very important need in the coming years. With optimizations and renewed modules for SMEs, we constantly provide the best for our visitors and aim to offer them a perfect shopping experience.<\/p>\n\n\n

How many countries have you sold your products to so far via Ozdisan.com? How did the platform contribute to your export activities?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Analyzing the figures, we can see how a correct investment we have made. Currently, we have a click-through number that reaches 40 thousand per day. We see that queries were made from 165 different countries.\u00a0I can easily say that Ozdisan.com<\/a> supports the increase in the number of countries we export to. Currently we ship to over 100 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world economy is going through a process that it has never experienced. How will the global coronavirus pandemic affect the electronics and automation sector globally? Could you share your predictions?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The coronavirus, which affected the whole world, led to death of thousands of people in no time. Especially countries such as China, Italy, Iran, Spain and America suffered significant losses. While it remains unclear how long the epidemic will last, I think there will be major crises in both domestic and foreign markets. The coronavirus pandemic negatively affects many sectors in economic terms as well as public health. It is also obvious that the pandemic has caused significant economic and social problems in our country as well. In this regard, we are going through a difficult process as the Turkish business world. The electronics and automation sector is also under a big test. I believe that our sector will revive again in the near future. Although the economic support packages have been announced, it will not be right to make a certain estimation for now, as we cannot predict the upcoming process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will be the trends in your sector with the pandemic?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I think that the world will be reshaped when the coronavirus pandemic, which affects the economy as well as public health, loses its impact. Especially in the near future, there will be a great demand for IoT technology and smart home systems. Thanks to the smart home concept, which can be controlled via internet with smartphones or tablets, people will have a better quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of precautions did Ozdisan take about the pandemic?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

As Ozdisan<\/a>, we consider our employees as a member of our family and we care very much about their health. In order to prevent further spread of the pandemic in our country, important tasks are assigned to individuals as well as companies. As Ozdisan, we have taken some precautions as well. First of all, we held a management meeting about the coronavirus and communicated our decisions to all our colleagues. We have canceled our planned customer visits, meetings and trainings in T\u00fcrkiye and abroad due to coronavirus. A disinfection process was carried out at our company within the scope of coronavirus protection measures. We have placed hand sanitizers at the office entrances, next to the elevators, in the kitchen areas and WCs. We have also placed information leaflets about cleaning and pandemic prevention wherever our employees can see, and ensured use of masks and gloves. The body temperature of all our staff is measured regularly every day. These measured values are recorded as well.
