Which one of us hasn\u2019t chatted with Siri or tried Cortana? Or, which one of us hasn’t asked Google Duplex something? It\u2019s easy to guess! Almost all of us have met with systems that can respond interactively to these. For now, we will not discuss audio analysis part, but the hardware that allows the sound to come to our ears. Nuvoton is one of the important brands that Ozdisan Elektronik has recently added to its existing portfolio. In our previous article, we talked about the strengths of the Nuvoton brand in processors field. In this article, on the other hand, we will talk about the hardware audio integrations of Nuvoton. Nuvoton is a company that has strengthened itself in processors and audio fields, after leaving Winbond Electronics in 2008. The company has AECQ100 Automotive Certificate in audio integrators field. We can see the Nuvoton brand in most of the devices that can produce voice to the outside during use. You can see Nuvoton audio products in over 1 billion products globally. Fortune 500 companies also provide quality services to their customers by choosing Nuvoton products. Nuvoton offers products for automotive, computer, industrial or consumer electronics.<\/p>\n\n\n

The brand has important references in the sound field. The most well-known of these are companies such as Dell, Google, Intel, Microsoft. This means that you are most probably using Nuvoton products in your computers. Nuvoton has made a breakthrough in the field of audio and has developed a system that is far beyond conventional solutions. The company created a hardware-based powerful audio integration, by placing the audio part inside the processors in the ARM Cortex architecture. This integrated solution enabled the creation of the desired scenario at the desired level, by writing and embedding an algorithm into the audio integrations. Thus, just as an algorithm is written to a normal microprocessor, an algorithm can be written inside the audio integration, and as a result, the sounds that we plan to use can be transferred to outside based on the desired algorithm.<\/p>\n\n\n

Nuvoton is a company that has proven itself in voice recognition, as well as transferring certain previously uploaded audio files to the outside. The company offers solutions for both person-independent and person-dependent voice recognition. So, Nuvoton products can be used in applications that a person can control by voice, as well as in applications that we have decided to be controlled only by the person we have chosen. There are options for each product that include different Flash\/Ram and hardware features. Thus, the appropriate product can be selected according to the needs. It seems that voice control systems that are gradually entering our lives will exist in our lives in the future as well. For instance, when we get home we will be able to turn the lights on\/off without using a switch, \u201ctell\u201d our washing machine what program to run on, and finally stretch our legs and \u201ctell\u201d our coffee machine to make us a coffee in the desired setting. All of this will happen with Nuvoton’s voice recognition integrations. The IoT and smart-home fields are now completely turning to such products.<\/p>\n\n\n

One of the proven integrations in this field is the ISD9160 series. This series has the ARM Cortex M0 architecture. It can reach speeds of up to 49MHz. It has 12Kb of Ram and 145K\/64K flash option. There is also a built-in Audio PWM driver. It supports up to 1 Watt power. In addition, it is equipped with several extra hardware such as Uart, SPI, I2C, I2S. Voice recognition applications can be achieved with these serial voice integrations. Nuvoton audio integrations are also very easy to use. With a computer software provided by the manufacturer, the desired sounds are loaded into memory, and after the necessary algorithms are written, they are transferred into audio integration with the Nuvoton programming unit. Nuvoton also considers elegance in its processors. We can program our products on the field by transferring the sounds that we have compiled into a USB-sized programmer, the algorithm of which we have written.
