We have reviewed for you the countries that are taking action for a more livable world and stand out in renewable energy field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

Germany, the most energy-consuming country in Europe, provides most of its total electricity production from renewable sources. Although coal is still one of the most important energy sources in Germany, the locomotive of Europe, the importance of renewable energy sources is also increasing. In 2015, 13% of the green electricity was obtained from wind power, 7% percent from biomass and 6% from photovoltaics (a system that converts sunlight into electricity). The share of hydropower in renewable energy was calculated as 3 percent, while share of household waste was calculated as 1 percent. Germany ranks first in the world in energy production with solar panels. The country meets 78 percent of its daily electricity demand from solar energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

China, one of the most crowded countries in the world, is also in a leading position with its investments in the field of renewable energy. According to the report \u201cChina\u2019s Global Edible Growth\u201d published by the Institute of Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), China increased its investments in renewable energy and related technologies abroad by 60 percent in 2016 compared to the previous year. China also continues to lead the way in employment data in the renewable energy sector. According to the World Energy Outlook 2016 report published by the International Energy Agency, 3.5 million of the 8.1 million people employed in the renewable energy sector globally are employed by China. As of 2016, China is the world leader in solar energy production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costa Rica<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

Costa Rica, one of the most developed and prosperous countries in Central America, mainly amazes people with its nature. The country, which has an astonishing nature, implements the use of clean and renewable energy as a state policy. In 2011, the country was declared as a \u201crole model\u201d in sustainable environmental policies by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The country meets almost all of its energy needs from hydroelectric, geothermal, solar, and wind resources. Costa Rica, which aims to reach zero carbon emissions by 2021, provides most of its electricity generation from 4 environmentally friendly hydroelectric power plants. According to the information provided by the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), 98.1 percent of the country’s annual electricity needs were met with renewable energy in 2016. The electricity needs of this 4.9-million country was mostly fulfilled by hydroelectric power plants fed by many rivers and seasonal rainfall. In addition, the geothermal energy plants and wind turbines stood out in power production, while the solar and biomass energy made a small but increasing contribution. Since the beginning of 2016, only renewable energy has been used to satisfy the country\u2019s electricity needs for 150 days in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweden<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

Sweden, which has taken significant steps in renewable energy, will close nuclear power plants as part of the country\u2019s energy revolution. Sweden also aims to satisfy all of its energy needs from renewable energy sources by 2040. Sweden aims to be the first country to satisfy its energy needs not from fossil energy sources such as coal and oil, but only from renewable energy sources such as wind, solar energy and hydropower. In 2016, the country invested in solar energy 800 times more than that of in 2015. The country\u2019s schedule for completely eliminating fossil-based energy is unclear yet, but the Swedish government has announced that the capital Stockholm will become a city where no fossil energy sources will be used by 2050. The country also plans to shut-off its nuclear power plants. In Sweden, bio-gas, obtained through the processing of household waste with modern methods, is used for both heating and electricity generation. In a country with a population of about 10 million, 99 percent of the garbage generated in houses is used for electricity generation, while the remaining 1 percent is used for agricultural fertilizer purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United States Of America<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

The U.S.\u2019s performance in renewable energy is increasing daily. A solar panel is installed every 2 minutes in the country. The U.S. is 5th in the world in solar energy generation and 2nd in wind energy generation. The wind power capacity of the country increased by 19 percent in 2016, surpassing the country\u2019s largest renewable energy source, hydropower, and reaching 5.5 percent of total power generation capacity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
