Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that it has been selected as the contractor for the Earth Greenhouse Gas and Water Cycle Observation Satellite (GOSAT-GW), the third in the GOSAT-GW series, by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and has begun development activities. Mitsubishi Electric aims to contribute to the prevention of natural disasters caused by global warming and climate change with the GOSAT-GW satellite, which will monitor greenhouse gases for the Japanese Ministry of the Environment and the National Institute of Environmental Studies, and the water cycle for JAXA. GOSAT-GW will take the scientific and technological methods to a next level by enabling more precise forecasting of climate change.
