The Turkish machinery sector increased its export income by 6.5 percent in the first four months of 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year, increasing its total exports to 5.8 billion dollars. Stating that the export performance of the machinery sector continues to increase every year, Machinery Exporters’ Association President Kutlu Karavelioglu said, “We have to catch up with the increase in the quantity of machinery exports in terms of value as well, and we have more than enough technological knowledge and experience to achieve this. In order to utilize this power in global competition, the machinery sector should be positioned among strategic sectors within the scope of the New Economy Program, as it is the case all over the world, and should be supported by both industrial and trade policies. Domestic machinery is the medicine of the Turkish economy.”
