NASA Shares The Images Of Samples Of The 4.5 Billion Year Old Bennu Asteroid

NASA held a meeting about the samples of the 4.5 billion year old Bennu asteroid brought in the Earth. The first information shared at this meeting revealed that the asteroid had a structure that is rich in water and carbon. The first images of the samples of the asteroid were also shared at this meeting.
The samples of the Bennu asteroid were brought in the Earth after the historic OSIRIS-REx mission, which began in 2016, was completed on September 24, 2023. The samples, which were examined at the BD’s Jahnson Space Center in Texas state for 17 days, were shared with the world at a meeting broadcast live on October 11. The first findings that emerged as a result of the analyses about the samples, which also have the potential to provide information about the formation of our solar system, were also shared at this meeting.
